Lavash Chips: Quick, Crunchy, And Guilt-Free

Lavash Chips: Quick, Crunchy, And Guilt-Free

Chips are one of the most popular snacks out there, especially with kids and teens — and they also happen to rank near the top of the list of foods you probably shouldn’t eat too much of.

Even “real potato” chips come with baggage: uniform, oversized tubers bred for size and shape rather than nutrition, deep frying, and a long list of synthetic flavorings and preservatives. So what do you do when you’re craving something crunchy and salty?

Enter lavash — the thin, soft Armenian flatbread popular across the Caucasus and Central Asia. In just a couple of minutes, you can turn it into chips with any flavor you like: cheese, paprika, sour cream and onion, or fresh herbs. And you can hand these to your kids without a second thought.

It’s better for children to associate “chips” with a crispy homemade snack than with a flashy bag off the supermarket shelf. Teaching kids healthy eating habits early is one of the most useful things a parent can do — and AdmiGram.com is here to show you how.

  • Olive oil — 1 tablespoon
  • Salt, paprika, garlic powder, or grated cheese — to taste

  2. Cut or tear the lavash sheets into small squares or triangles.
  3. Arrange the pieces on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Drizzle lightly with olive oil (or brush gently) so the seasoning sticks, then sprinkle with salt, cheese, and your favorite spices.
