Surely you have a pair of old, comfortable shoes sitting in a drawer somewhere — shoes you can’t bring yourself to throw away, but that you’re too embarrassed to wear out of the house anymore. Is it possible to give shoes a second life and make them look brand new again? Absolutely! With just a little effort, you can turn an old pair into a gorgeous, fashionable statement piece for any party.
The process itself is simple, and you’ll breeze through it in under half an hour. And if you have little ones, you can glam up a pair for them too — perfect for any celebration. AdmiGram.com picked up this bit of real magic from blogger Jessica, who insists you should never throw out an old pair of shoes!
How to Make Old Shoes New and Fashionable

All you’ll need is a pair of your old, comfortable shoes, shoe glue, loose glitter, a glue brush, and some old newspaper. Keep in mind that if the shoes are leather, the surface needs to be clean and degreased first so the glue adheres properly.

You can degrease leather shoes with regular nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. Wipe the surface thoroughly with a damp cloth and let it dry completely before you start working.

Once the surface is clean and dry, stuff some paper inside the shoes to keep glue and glitter from getting inside. Next, apply an even layer of shoe glue over the entire surface of one shoe.

Then, over a spread-out sheet of newspaper, sprinkle glitter generously over the shoe until it’s fully covered. Gently shake off the excess. Repeat until the shoe is completely coated, then lightly press the glitter into the surface with a cloth.

If you notice any spots where the glitter isn’t sticking, add a bit more glue there and press it in with the brush. Once your shoes are fully covered in glitter, set them in a dry place and let the glue cure completely (about 48 hours). After that, they’re ready to wear to any fashionable party — you’ll be irresistible in them!
