- Turn off electrical devices at night. Computers, televisions, and other appliances unplugged from the socket can save from 50 to 100 watts overnight. Now multiply that by the number of houses in the world.
- When brushing your teeth or shaving, turn off the water. Most of us overlook this, which means at least 5 gallons (20 liters) of water per day.
- Print on the back side of paper. You can easily cut your office paper consumption in half by printing on both sides of the sheet.
- Be a vegetarian at least once a week. The energy and natural resource consumption before vegetarian or meat-based food reaches your plate are incomparable.
- Forget about paper napkins and towels. Yes, some of them are made from recycled materials, but not all. The wood consumption for their production exceeds the volumes for printed books and newspapers.
- Don’t litter. Anything you throw away not in the trash can can decompose in soil or water for up to a million years. And it’s good if it’s not toxic.
- Install water-saving showerheads. This will save not only water but also the electricity needed to heat it. Plus, your bills will be smaller.

- Plant a tree. If each of us planted just one tree a year, there would be nearly 5 billion more trees in the world.
- Don’t hesitate to buy second-hand items. Second-hand doesn’t mean bad; in many cases, it could be practically new. This also helps the environment.
- Avoid using disposable tableware. Forget about plastic tableware, even if you’re a bachelor and find it cumbersome to wash dishes. With the money saved, buy a beautiful porcelain set.
- Install ‘smart devices’ in your home. Firstly, they not only save electricity but also create a special technological coziness in your home.
- Send your electronics for recycling. Every year, we throw away hundreds of thousands of gadgets into regular trash bins. It’s incredibly toxic! And recycling gadgets is not that difficult.
- Don’t throw away unwanted items right away. Anything you own, even the oldest thing, might be useful to someone. This also conserves resources used in its production.
- Switch to electronic documents. We live in the era of artificial intelligence, so it’s almost embarrassing to still use paper documents. Download an electronic document – save a tree!
- Share this knowledge. Everyone should understand that they can make a significant contribution to the preservation of our planet, even just by reading all of this. Let’s make the world a better place!
