A Wise Story About Always Starting With Oneself

A Wise Story About Always Starting With Oneself

There’s a wonderful saying, if you want the world to change, start with yourself. Today AdmiGram.com tells a funny story that will be painfully familiar to many couples.

Once upon a time, there was a young family in Italy. The young couple had recently moved to the city and worked diligently. On Saturdays, tired from hard work, they liked to sleep in a little longer. After waking up, one of the young people would brew coffee, and they would lie in bed for a long time, talking about life.

The young wife was a real perfectionist and often liked to criticize for no reason. In the morning, her attention was drawn to the fact that their middle-aged neighbor was hanging out her freshly washed laundry to dry.

“Oh, my goodness!” the girl clapped her cheeks.

“Look at how dirty her laundry is,” she said to her husband.

“She seems like an adult, but doesn’t know how to do laundry… Maybe she just doesn’t know about good detergents that remove stains?” she murmured, but her husband, paying no attention to either his wife or the laundry, was engrossed in reading news and only mechanically nodded his head, agreeing with his wife.

And so it went on for the whole of May, June, and even July. Only it was getting worse, the young wife couldn’t calm down. Exactly at eight in the morning, every Saturday, the same woman would appear at their window.

“Oh, my God, when will someone tell her that her laundry is dirty and all stained! Isn’t she ashamed? Someone needs to tell her, her whole family is walking around in dirty clothes! Why are you silent?” the young girl couldn’t stop herself, appealing to her husband who was calmly savoring the aroma of his morning coffee while reading the news.

The husband looked at his beloved and said that he would come up with something. And then, the next Saturday, already preparing another portion of reproaches for the neighbor woman, the girl was just amazed.

“Oh, my gods! Look how snow-white her laundry is today! Well, she finally learned how to do laundry… What did you tell her? Did you talk to her?” the girl was puzzled and looked at her husband.

“No, I didn’t talk to her,” the husband replied, still immersed in the news column.

“Then what did you do? Tell me?”

“Well, I just got up earlier, while you were still sleeping, and finally washed our window,” the husband replied with a smile.
