It’s long been known that cats have a strong-willed nature. But even for seasoned cat lovers, it can sometimes be very difficult to understand certain aspects of a cat’s character. After all, a cat will never tell you what it doesn’t like or which things it simply hates.
AdmiGram.com will tell you about the most harmful actions of humans that cats hate the most and don’t forgive their owners. So if you’ve noticed that your Oliver or Bella has stopped purring to you at night, it means you’ve done one of these nasty things and hurt your kitty very much.
10 things your cat really hates
You don’t pay attention to the cat

Contrary to the prevailing opinion that cats wander around on their own, they, like any other pets, need attention and interaction with you. Sometimes your pet just gets bored and wants to play with you. It will try to get your attention in various ways: rubbing against your leg, scratching furniture, following you around, or simply meowing. Don’t ignore your kitty; give it five minutes of your time. It’s even worse if you show any aggression towards the animal at that moment.
Dirty litter box
Let’s be honest. Would you be pleased if your toilet was in a disgusting condition and had a terrible smell? Cats have a sense of smell tens of times stronger than yours. They can’t stand dirty and unclean litter boxes. So please keep the cat’s toilet clean and tidy if you don’t want your pet to “somehow start doing it” in the kitchen or on your favorite couch.
Strong odors

As we’ve established earlier, cats have an excellent sense of smell. So strong odors for them are like inhaling an open can of automotive paint for you. Try to make sure your home doesn’t have plants with strong smells and avoid using air fresheners in the room where the cat lives.
Spoiled food in the bowl
Cats always remain predators. And no predator will feed on “carrion.” So if you think your cat should finish your spoiled soup or expired sausages — you’re deeply mistaken. Don’t do it. Also, make sure the food in your cat’s bowl never sits for too long. The food bowl should always be clean and contain only fresh food.
Living with other cats

Cats, like all predators, are territorial animals. Therefore, they will defend their territory when encountering other cats. If you decide to have two cats in the house, it’s a very bad idea. Also, accept the fact that if your neighbors also have a cat, try to control your pet’s behavior to prevent possible fights between them.
Strong petting
Cats appreciate gentle strokes. So if you want to pet your pet, your touches should be gentle and slow. Many cats are sensitive to overly fast and strong petting. Such affection will not be to their liking. Moreover, many cats suffer from feline hyperesthesia. So you might unknowingly cause pain to the animal.
Loud noises and sounds

Loud music, a running vacuum cleaner, and fireworks are not the only sources of stress and fear for cats. Cats panic at anything that makes a loud noise, whether it’s your coffee grinder or just a loud conversation in a noisy company. If you like to listen to loud music or if you’re having a party in the evening, try to organize a cozy and quiet corner for your cat.
Pills
Sometimes it happens that your pet needs medication. Many veterinary studies confirm that most tablets and capsules do not dissolve even after a long period and remain intact in the cat’s body. If medication is necessary, it’s better if it’s a liquid or simply crush the tablet. No capsules.
Water

If you really want to upset your cat — bathe it. Of course, such procedures can be done in extreme cases. But remember, cats fiercely hate water. The thing is, cats have a special layer of air trapped in their undercoat, protecting them from overheating and freezing. When the fur gets wet, this layer is destroyed, and the cat starts to feel cold. Therefore, cats remember bathing procedures for a long time and will hold a grudge against you for a very long time.
Travel carriers
Cats have excellent memory. This is especially true when they are restricted in their freedom or moved to some place. They remember very well the carrier in which they are transported from the apartment to the country house, or worse, to the veterinarian. If such a trip is necessary, try to “sweeten the bitter pill” somehow. Consult with your veterinarian if sedatives can be used in these cases.
