Know the law. In the U.S., teens aged 14–15 can work limited hours (up to 3 hours on school days, 18 per week). At 16+, you can work up to 8 hours a day. In the UK, light work is allowed from age 13 (up to 2 hours a day), and from 16 you can work full-time. Parental consent may be required.
Look for job openings. Check websites like Indeed or Snagajob (U.S.), or StudentJob and Gumtree (UK). Ask neighbors, local shops, or job centers.
Create a basic résumé. Even if you don’t have work experience, list your school achievements, hobbies, or volunteer work.
Stay safe. Don’t share personal info unless you trust the employer. Avoid sketchy offers that sound “too good to be true.”
Grow your skills. Every job teaches time management, responsibility, and communication. These are bonuses beyond your paycheck!
